Terms of use

Version of 13 September 2026 — Faitout app, published by Aplomb.

This is an English translation provided for information. The French version is the one in force; if the two differ, the French version prevails. [TO BE COMPLETED: review of this translation by a lawyer before the app is offered in English.]

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the Faitout app, which offers weekly menus, recipes, shopping lists and cooking tools for a household. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. Publisher

Aplomb, [TO BE COMPLETED: legal form, SIREN number, registered office address], contact@aplomb-apps.fr. [TO BE COMPLETED: name of the publication director.]

3. What the app does, and does not do

The app generates meal suggestions from rules: seasons, available time, energy profiles, household constraints, past feedback. It calculates energy benchmarks from the ANSES Ciqual table and the French national nutrition guidelines (PNNS), and it flags the allergens declared in recipes according to the fourteen categories of Regulation (EU) 1169/2011.

These suggestions are an aid to organisation. They are not medical, dietary or nutritional advice. In particular:

4. Your account and your data

Without a shared household, the app works without an account and your data stays on your device. If you turn on the shared household, an anonymous account is created and the household's documents are synchronised between its devices; you leave it and delete the account in one gesture. In every case, you can export, re-import and erase your data at any time from Settings › My data. The privacy policy, available in the app, describes what is recorded and what goes through our servers.

You are responsible for the data you enter about the members of your household, and you make sure you are entitled to enter it.

5. The AI assistant

Steering a week in one sentence and importing recipes use an automated assistant through our servers, within a limit of twenty requests per day per device on the free offer. The assistant can make mistakes: its answers are always presented as rules or recipes that you check and can change. Do not enter personal data in steering sentences. Abusive or automated requests may be limited.

6. Imported content

When you import a recipe from a web address, a photo of a book or a text, you do so for your personal and family use. You remain responsible for respecting the rights attached to the content you import. The app does not publish or share these recipes outside your device in this version.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its recipe catalogue, its texts, its illustrations and its visual identity belong to Aplomb or its licensors. The public data used is credited in Settings › About (Ciqual table under the Etalab licence, PNNS guidelines, seasonal calendars, keeping sources) and remains under its respective licences. You may use the app for your personal and family needs; you may not extract the catalogue to redistribute it, nor decompile the app beyond what the law allows.

8. Availability

The app works offline for the most part. The functions that go through our servers (AI assistant) may be interrupted for maintenance or if a provider fails; the app says so and offers the local alternative (presets, local analysis of a pasted text). We endeavour to keep the service running, without any guarantee of permanent availability.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Aplomb cannot be held liable for indirect damage linked to the use of the app, nor for the consequences of a food decision taken solely on the basis of its suggestions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor the legal guarantees owed to consumers.

10. Free offer and subscription

Some of the functions are free with no time limit. The premium functions, their price and the terms of the subscription are described in the terms of sale, available in the app. Functions related to allergens are never reserved for the paid offer.

11. Changes to the terms

These terms carry a version date. In the event of a significant change, the app tells you when it opens and lets you read the new version before continuing. The applicable version is the one shown in the app.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, you may use consumer mediation: [TO BE COMPLETED: contact details of the chosen consumer mediator]. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the rules of jurisdiction that protect consumers.
